Eyes for Jesus, January 8

Father God, You are my King and my only real security!  I will extol You at all times; Your praise will always be on my lips (Ps. 34:1).  Please help me to run with patience the particular race You have set before me (Heb. 12:1).  Teach me to make every effort to add to my faith goodness, knowledge, self-control, perseverance, godliness, kindness, and love in increasing measure so that I will be effective and productive in my knowledge of You (2 Pe. 1:5-8).  Please Jesus, put my mind on things above, not on earthly things (Col. 3:2).  May I have eyes only for You.  In Your Sweet Name Jesus, Amen.

At the End of My Life, Decemeber 5

Father, You give sound learning (Pr. 4:2 NIV). At the end of my life, keep me from saying, “How I hated discipline! How my heart spurned instruction.  I would not obey my teachers or listen to my instructors.”  Keep me from coming to the brink of utter ruin in the midst of the whole assembly (Pr. 5:11-14 NIV).  Help me to pay attention to Your wisdom and to listen well to Your words of insight that I may maintain discretion and my lips preserve knowledge” (Pr. 5:1-2 NIV).  Encourage me in heart and unite me in love for in Your Son, Jesus, are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge (Col. 2:2-3 NIV).  In Jesus,’ Amen.
